For an international bank transfer, you need a SWIFT Code (BIC Code) and the IBAN Code. The IBAN Code is an international bank account number and consists of the Bank Sort Code and the account number. Please note the different syntax of the IBAN countries

To calculate an IBAN Code, please feel free to use our IBAN calculator.

2. Why has a BIC Code sometimes 8-digits and sometimes 11-digits ?

General, you can use the 8-digit BIC Code (SWIFT Code) for your international bank transfers. The 8-digit BIC Code uniquely identifies the head office of the bank. The missing digits are replaced with XXX and directed through the head office of the bank to the right branch.
