The Swiss Clearing Number (SIC Number)

 

The Swiss IBAN Bank Code Number that is important for Switzerland is called “Bankenclearing Nummer”. The Bank Clearing Number (BC) identifies the financial institutes in Switzerland and Lichtenstein that operate with the SIC (Swiss Interbank Clearing AG) or euroSIC. SIC is a cooperation of Swiss Banks for the payment in Swiss Francs. EuroSIC is responsible for the payments in Euros. The Bank Clearing Number comprises of 3 – 5 figures. Using the branch ID one can identify the Bank Branch. The ID of a Head Office is the 0000 and the branches start at 0001 upwards.
